The Granada Research of Excellence Initiative on BioHealth (GREIB) is a new created high-competitive project of the University of Granada (UGR) funded by the Campus of International Excellence of the Ministry of Science and Innovation (Class B, R+D+I – Top Research Areas).
GREIB main objective is to create a BioHealth framework in the city of Granada leading ultimately to the promotion of the UGR as an international reference in the BioHealth field. GREIB strategic plan features as a top priority the incorporation of all concerned stakeholders, comprising both public and private players, within the Granada area. The program is aimed at fostering the excellence in research that bridges the gap between basic and applied biomedical research and/or excels in international collaboration in biomedical science.
The aim of GREIB-AWARD is to promote translational research and internationalization of R+D activities by GREIB research groups by public recognition of initiatives of outstanding value carried out by their researchers.
Each initiative will be evaluated in terms of excellence and impact, and will be represented by a principal investigator, normally as leader of a group.
These awards (one for internationalization and one for translational research) will be given yearly, with 6,000 euros.
The applications will be evaluated by the GREIB steering committee.
Applications may be submitted before November 15, 2010 (and 2011). However, the steering committee may select initiatives freely. Also, the prizes may be left unawarded.
