The Granada Research of Excellence Initiative on BioHealth (GREIB) is a new created high-competitive project of the University of Granada (UGR) funded by the Campus of International Excellence of the Ministry of Science and Innovation (Class B, R+D+I – Top Research Areas). GREIB main objective is to create a BioHealth framework in the city of Granada leading ultimately to the promotion of the UGR as an international reference in the BioHealth field. GREIB strategic plan features as a top priority the incorporation of all concerned stakeholders, comprising both public and private players, within the Granada area. The program supports short stays of senior prestigious researchers at laboratories at the University of Granada. The aim of these short stays will be to create new collaborations with BioHealth researchers, strengthening the international cooperation of BioHealth researchers with world-leading centers and research groups.
The aim of GREIB-SER is to encourage an effective collaboration between host researchers belonging to GREIB groups and aggregated institutions and world-leading groups represented by visiting Senior Excellent researchers.
The visits will have a duration of one month minimum (preferably between one and two months). Exceptionally this may be extended up to four months.
The visit grant will be 6000 EUR per month during the GREIB stay, including travel costs and health-care insurance.
In 2010 the deadline for applications is November 30, subject to financial resources. For the next year, a new call will be launched.
The applications will be evaluated by the GREIB Steering Committee.
A host BioHealth researcher is not allowed to host more than two visitors per year.
The visiting researchers must be prestigious experts of the highest international level. Their capability of leading international research initiatives or research centers will be considered specially. As a general rule, applicants must be senior researchers with at least ten years of expertise after obtaining their PhD degree.
The documentation to be included in the application form is:
A letter of commitment by the candidate visitor.
A letter of acceptance by the host researcher.

A short Curriculum Vitae of the applicant, containing the most important goals of his/her research and scientific activities.
